The Followers at IMMA

The Followers at IMMA

The Followers is now at IMMA until 26th January 2014 as part of ‘The Everyday Experience’, curated by Nathalie Weadick, Irish Architecture Foundation.

The Followers functions as foldaway, portable occasional seating. Bound together the seats form an encampment, a temporarily forced collective. Standing outside of the circular boundary we are reminded of exclusive elites. Seated facing inward we perceive security and interdependency. Our experiences in life can be defined by the side of such boundary lines we find ourselves on.

Culturstruction in collaboration with Renate Henschke.

Thank you to Gearoid Muldowney for his assistance in the design and making of this prototype.
